1. How long have you worked for Hertfordshire County Council (HCC)?
I have worked for the council for nearly 5 months.
2. Tell us about your current role
I am currently in HR, working in the learning and development (L&D) team covering administration for all learning opportunities that are available to the council. This includes organising information and L&D sessions for staff and working with people who undertake apprenticeships within the council.
3. What is the highlight of your career so far?
I would have to say the highlight of my career was national apprenticeship week. This happened three weeks after I had started in my current role and got thrown into going to careers events and public speaking. This allowed me really early on to gain knowledge and experience in my role and become more confident at what I do.
4. What would you say to someone thinking about a career with HCC?
My advice would be to give it a chance. There are so many opportunities within the council to shadow other departments, move job roles and get learning and development opportunities. There are also a lot of perks to working in the council, all of it great for your personal and professional development.
