About our scheme

  • You’ll receive a personalised 2 year development programme which fast tracks graduates towards a senior management career.
  • You’ll be welcomed into the organisation meeting your fellow grads and a peer buddy already on the scheme, as well as your placement manager.  
  • Through our Autumn Academy and wider scheme you’ll receive a range of training, workshop and development days focussed on key management competencies and have the chance to mentor an apprentice as they take the early steps on their career journey.
  • Throughout the scheme you’ll be given the opportunity to work across our service departments undertaking interesting and stretching work.
  • You’ll see how our front line services work and how they are managed. You may spend time working in one of our external partners in the NHS, other local councils or voluntary sector organisations.
  • You’ll spend time with our senior leaders (including our Chief Executive and Leader of the Council) and work with a senior manager mentor to help you focus on developing your career path.
