Graduate scheme 

 

 

Our grad scheme is a 2 year development programme which fast-tracks graduates towards a senior management career.

  • Work across a range of services, from frontline to back office, on the most interesting and stretching projects.
  • Great support from peers already on the scheme and a senior manager mentor.
  • Mentor an apprentice through the early steps of their career.
  • Spend time with our senior leaders, including our chief executive and Leader of the Council.

You might spend time with one of our external partners in the NHS, other local councils or voluntary sector organisations.

Apprenticeships

 

Hertfordshire Apprenticeship Scheme is an excellent place to start your career or develop new skills.

The minimum duration is 12 months. Some degree level programmes around 2-3 years.

You'll gain experience in a variety of roles across a range of services. You'll also have the opportunity to get qualifications, up to a postgraduate degree.

Qualifications available

A range of work-based qualifications are available, equivalent to an NVQ level 2 - 7. Includes engineering, business admin, leadership and management, and health and social care.

Paid internships are a brilliant way to earn while you learn.

You can test out if the career you had in mind really is the one for you. It also looks great on your CV.

Aimed at university and college leavers, internships give you hands-on experience across a range of teams and locations, from graphic design to business administration.
