About job families
The job family framework at Hertfordshire County Council is made up of 9 job families. Within each family there are several levels. Those levels reflect the knowledge, skills and abilities required to carry out roles within a family. This means that it is possible to compare the ‘size’ of roles which undertake very different work.
Job Families will be reviewed regularly (at least annually) to ensure it remains fit for purpose and is up to date and when required (i.e. when new roles are created or brought into the Council) new profiles may be added to a family.
The duties and responsibilities listed in each of the job family profiles describe the post as it is at present. The post holder is expected to accept any reasonable alterations that may from time to time be necessary.
